Do You Still Believe?

Do you remember the song Say Yes by Michelle Williams featuring Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland? As I was riding in my car this past weekend, this song started to play. I had completely forgotten about this CD in my disc changer, but I immediately became inspired by the words and started to praise God. Do you remember having this exact feeling when you listened to the lyrics? I remember when this song first debuted and it was played on gospel and secular music radio stations. I’m sure it inspired many people and reminded others that God is still in control: When Jesus say yes, nobody can say no. It doesn’t matter what the situation looks like. Isn’t this encouraging?! This means it has to happen no matter what!

God does not lie. If He said it, it has to come to pass. Are you still believing the words to this song today for your situation? Or have you grown weary in waiting for your breakthrough? Have you lost hope? Do you think God has forgotten what He has said to you?

I’m here to tell you He has not! With the Lord a day is like a thousand years (2 Peter 3:8); in His timing your miracle is surely coming. So if you think you have been waiting too long, imagine that timeline. My grandmother has always said, “The Lord is always on time.”

I recently heard a popular radio announcer say it is a lesson in the waiting that we should not miss because we’re so ready for the ending. If we’re not careful we can repeat a situation because we didn’t learn the lesson rushing God to get us to the finish line. The following verses have helped me many times in the waiting room, and I hope you will be encouraged by them as well:

Psalm 84:11 NLT For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.

Galatians 6:9 NIV Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Don’t give up and stay the course. God gave us His only Son, so do you really think He wants to withhold your promise? Jesus is the blessing. A delay is not a No when God has already said Yes. It doesn’t matter what man says or what the enemy tries to get you to believe. Believe God and know that He cannot lie.

I would not be truthful if I told you that waiting is always fun. It can become tiring and you can feel like you’re by yourself at times — still waiting and praying. But let me remind you that God hears your cry and has the perfect timing for your ending. You are not alone (hyperlink); God is still there with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Believe it!
