Just get back up…

While I was recently out for a jog, I passed a house where a woman was taking out her trash. We spoke as I passed by. She said she needed to be outside doing the same thing. I quickly told her I was getting back into the groove myself (I had been off my workout routine for the past couple of weeks). The woman’s response was, “I admire you.”

I immediately thought, Wow, how many of us do this. Instead of just getting back up, we allow the fact that we fell off in the first place to get us down. It may not show up in our actions, but it shows up in our responses to others. Until my neighbor reminded me that it didn’t matter that I was getting back into the routine, the fact that I got back up is all that she saw and needed to see.

Sometimes we can be our own worse critic, so my recommendation today is to give yourself a break. God is so loving and merciful. When we come to Him and ask for forgiveness, the Bible tells us that He forgives us: 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Believe it and stand on it. Everything good comes from God. Paul the Apostle tells us to focus on whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things (Philippians 4:8)…negative words are not included, but are a trap from the enemy to try to keep us down.

My prayer today is that you will accept God’s generous GIFT of salvation and forgiveness and not beat yourself up for any shortcomings. Go to your heavenly Father in prayer who is full of love and grace and mercy and ask Him to help you with those areas in your life:

Revelation 3:20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. Remember Jesus loves you. All He needs is an invitation into your heart. Allow Him to come in today. We always get back up with Him.

    The enemy wants us to think it’s too late. He likes to keep us in a place of nothing to offer. Unfortunately, I just experienced one of these disappointment in myself days – that almost took my testimony but obedience is our purpose driven to do right by God. Even when we don’t want to. In my obedience someone thanked me for my encouragement. My words to her made me revisit my Faith walk & my trust in God. Sometimes our words speak life back into ourselves. So your message today is further confirmation to Let Go & Let God. He is the truth & the light in our darkness. Be Intentional ❤️❤️❤️
