We are truly blessed. As families are looking for the perfect dress or suit to wear for Easter Sunday, may I remind you that you already have the perfect blessing in Christ alone. At the cross our sins were paid for and we were reconciled back to the Father. Jesus’ blood was shed so that we can be free and are not condemned for our past, present, and future mistakes. Those who have accepted this beautiful gift of salvation from God are free, for the Bible says in John 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
I am saved, so I am free! Praise God. When you know who you are in Christ, then you don’t walk with your head held down. You don’t feel like you don’t belong, or allow others to make you feel that way. It’s a Godly confidence that you have within that flows out to others. NOT arrogance nor self-righteousness – no, that is not of God. It is confidence knowing that you are God’s child and are covered by Him and man cannot curse what He has blessed. Praise God!
This week my family and I went on vacation for spring break. I remember waking up on Tuesday morning thanking God for His many blessings. I read my morning devotions from my church and the words God’s glory came to me. I decided to read about God’s glory and scriptures that spoke about it. As I looked out my hotel window, I recognized God’s presence in all things beautiful. His love, the beauty in the palm trees as the wind blew them from left to right, and the beautiful sunrise.
All of these are blessings from God — the One who rises and sets the sun. The One who is in control of these things as well as the things in your life. He doesn’t forget to set the sun nor has He forgotten about that problem you prayed about. It all happens in His perfect timing. It is us (speaking to myself as well right now) who lose patience in waiting. But remember patience is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), so ask God to let it flow through you as you wait on Him. We can experience God’s glory every day, if we slow down to take a look at the beauty in the little things while we are waiting for the BIG things to happen in our lives. He deserves our praise.
This week leading up to Resurrection Sunday, another day that we come together to celebrate our Savior and rejoice in the fact that He lives, I pray that you will experience God’s presence in your lives. We shouldn’t worship the trees or the mountains or man, but worship the Creator who has created all things and makes all things beautiful in His timing.
I wish you all a blessed week in the Lord.
Love you all in Christ,
Ayesha L. Shoulders
