Knowing Your Purpose

Hi Everyone! This week’s post is close to me.  I recall some years ago sitting in my bed upset at yet another person who had taken my kindness for granted. I cried out to God, literally in tears, and asked why He gave me this heart to be treated this way. I still remember like it was yesterday, hearing clearly that I wasn’t given this heart for that purpose. It was then that I realized I was the giver and had allowed a lot of takers in my life, whom I had called friends. This is when it became apparent to me that we can misuse the gifts God gives us.

Can anyone relate?

If someone who has a kind heart continues to give to takers, then eventually they will stop giving and then God’s purpose will not be served when needed. Therefore, we need to use our gifts wisely. The Holy Bible tells us if any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God (James 1:5). I have heard people say they do not know what their purpose is in life. They have gone from job to job trying to figure it out or continue to feel unfulfilled in their present state. Have you prayed about it? Have you sought the One who gives generously to all without finding fault (James 1:5)

If you are tired of running around in circles trying to find your purpose, then seek God. Going to the Creator who knew you before you were in your mother’s womb (Jeremiah 1:5), who has plans for you (Jeremiah 29:11), who in all things works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28is your BEST solution.

Look no further. You don’t have to take a seminar to figure it out, listen to your friend’s version of what they think it is, or remain slouched over your work desk another day without knowing your purpose. Seek God

When I learned what God wanted me to do in times that I was ready to move on from a position, it gave me a reason to stay until the purpose was fulfilled. I sought God for wisdom, and how He wanted me to handle situations, and it all worked out for the good. The sadness I had about walking through the doors had left me because I knew God was using me for a greater purpose.

Brothers and sisters, it’s an awesome feeling to know that our heavenly Father thinks so much of us to allow us in His plans. It’s something about it that makes you feel good inside, that He loves us so much and thinks so highly of us. He showed it in a mighty way when He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believe in him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). That’s LOVE And that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ carried our sins in his body on the cross so that freed from our sins, we could live a life that has God’s approval. His wounds have healed you (1 Peter 2:24). That’s LOVE.

So, I want you to know that you are LOVED. And you have a purpose in this world. Do not allow anyone to tell you anything different. Why? Because the Creator of the heavens and the earth says so.

With Love, I encourage you to read God’s Word in the Holy Bible, so that you will know when the enemy tries to use people or situations to discourage you. You will know it is a lie because God says otherwise about you in His Word.

Be blessed and continue to be strong in the Lord. The name of the LORD is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe (Proverbs 18:10).
