Seedtime and Harvest
The Bible says in Genesis 8:22 “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.”
Has anyone not seen one of these things happen? No. And since we have and it happens just as God says it will, then we know for certain that this is true: Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? God told Abraham he would be a father of many nations. God said to Abraham in Genesis 17:6 I will give you a lot of descendants, and in the future they will become great nations. Some of them will even be kings. King David was a descendant of Abraham. Did God not say that this would happen and it came to pass? If you want to read it for yourself, look at the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah in Matthew Chapter 1. Before Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary, the Old Testament spoke of His coming, which Praise God happened, and because it happened we are saved today and have been reconciled back to the father. Thank you Jesus!
I’m saying all of this as a reminder that God does speak and what He says does come to fruition. God’s track record is flawless. For some people, it’s not that they do not believe the Word, but they find it hard to believe it for their own life. Imagine that!
Is there something you have been praying and waiting for and it just hasn’t happen yet? Have you given up on the promise or have grown weary in waiting? It is written in Galatians 6:9 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Don’t give up on God’s promise to you. I don’t care what your situation looks like today. Even if you haven’t received a specific promise for your marriage or your children or your job, just to name a few, the Bible is full of God’s promises for all who have accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior (please refer to the Salvation Prayer page to read more about accepting Christ as your Lord and Savior). Stand on God’s Word and remember in due time that you will reap a harvest (blessing) if you do not give up and keep the faith.
There is a time to sow and a time to reap. Sowing is not always about giving money, but it can be the tears you have cried, time you have given, and prayers you have prayed for others. Two friends may be going through the same trial in life; each one encouraging the other when their trial seems too difficult to endure. The prayers that each one is sowing into the others life for deliverance is heard by God. Do you not think that God will not take care of the one who is praying on his or her friend’s behalf? Do you not think that He will not deliver the one praying from his or her own troubles as well? God is not a respecter of person. He sees the seeds you are sowing in the others life, a seed of love and unselfishness. I truly believe you will be rewarded for that.
Speak life over the seeds you sow in your life and never death. My pastor has advised our church against sowing our seeds and going back and digging them up with negative words. This is what the enemy wants you to do. Have you ever prayed about something and walked away feeling great until doubt comes to mind? Does anyone of these statements sound familiar – I have been praying for this for years; it will never happen… My situation will never change…Is God even hearing me? This is negative thinking that the enemy wants you to dwell on to dig your seeds right out of the ground.
Whenever this happens you have to take those thoughts captive and bring them under the obedience of Christ. Read God’s Word and replace those negative thoughts with what God says about your situation. Then put the devil back under your feet where he belongs, for the Word says …resist the devil and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Never give up on your seeds. Continue to pray without ceasing and give thanks in all circumstance to God (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). There is power in your praise!
I would encourage you to read The Parable of the Sower (Matthew 13: 1-23). It’s important to ensure that your seeds are sowed on a strong foundation and that foundation is Jesus Christ. God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesian 3:20). Continue to trust in Him and wait for your harvest time to come.
I pray that this post encourages you and that you will continue to draw near to God in your daily walk with Him. Have a blessed week in the Lord. ~Ayesha L. Shoulders
If this ain’t an on time word, then I don’t know what is!!! I will be careful not to abort my seed.

People tend to forget that the words you speak are VERY POWERFUL and VERY STRONG. We have to ALWAYS speak positive and speak life into the seeds we have sown, in order for our harvest to be what He wants it to be for us. We have to also remember that when our seed is sown, it may take time for that seed to cultivate and grow. This waiting period does not mean it’s “pity party” time, because our harvest didn’t come at the snap of our fingers or when we want it to. Our harvest will come according to His timing for it, not ours. So during that waiting period, continue pray, continue to have faith, continue to move forward in His direction, continue to praise Him, continue to glorify His name, continue to stay and remain in positive, and ALWAYS continue to stand strong on His word in knowing that He will come through in the end of every situation. Amen!!!
