No Greater Love

John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

As so many couples and friends are signifying today as a date to celebrate love among each other, may we not forget the ultimate love and sacrifice our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ made for us at the cross. We have agape love from Him that is not based upon anything we had to do to acquire it. In the Holy Bible, Jesus Christ tells us in John 15:17 This is my command: Love each other.

Valentine’s Day is one day a year, but we are to love each other daily. Agape Love, unconditional love, that God has for each of us. Remember you are loved today beyond the flowers, candy, or any diamonds or pearls. God loved us first. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. This is the greatest love! And a promise that far exceeds anything that the world can offer.

One of my favorite gospel songs had the following lyrics: I rather have Jesus than silver and gold. I have received and owned many pieces of jewelry; some I cannot place today. These items have come and gone, but I will always have Jesus. He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). There is no greater love.
