Who are you going to believe…God or man?

When you are tested, who do you believe…God or man?

I previously listened to a sermon, which was very powerful, where the minister said sometimes believers walk around like folks with No Hope. Why is this the case, though? Is it because deep down the person believes God will supply all their needs, but truly have a hard time walking it out in faith…surrendering it all? Or is it because the flesh gets in the way and the person doesn’t really want to surrender the problem to God?

Whatever the individual struggle may be, remember God will help us with any struggles we may have…just call on His name and ask for help. God doesn’t change. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). He will never leave us nor abandon us (Hebrews 13:5).

Have you ever talked someone down from a stressful place, to learn that no matter how many scriptures you quoted, reminding them of God’s grace and love, that they just wanted to sit in that bitterness and anger?

Well, I had a choice to make yesterday, myself. The person who tried to test me may have thought they were doing their job; however, it was evident that this individual was taking it a step too far. For whatever motive was in this person’s heart, remember God sees the heart (1 Sam 16:7), my sister-in-Christ reminded me that God was in control of the situation.

She prayed for me and at that moment I had a decision to make. Was I going to get upset and let this person know verbally that I didn’t appreciate their actions (so many times this tactic has been used, but in the end it only makes matters worse), or was I going to surrender it to God and allow Him to work it out on my behalf?

For those of you who feel like this is giving away power when you let matters go, just know it takes even more to surrender it to God and watch Him work it out for you. It is His power working in us anyway (Ephesians 3:20) that equips us to do so. Besides, you are still doing something when you surrender your concerns to God, it’s just not the way the flesh wants you to handle the situation.

I will share my testimony that what the person attempted did not work. God took care of it within the hour, and I’m so glad that I didn’t listen to the flesh, but decided to be led by God’s Spirit.

When God gives you peace about something, follow it.
When you hear a negative report from the doctor’s office and peace comes over you instead of worry, then follow it. He is letting you know He is in control of the situation.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Jesus gives us His peace. He is the Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

God’s Word is full of His promises. When you read it, believe it. Every word of God is flawless (Proverbs 30:5).

What God gives no man can take away. John 10:28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.

So I will ask the question again: When you are tested, who do you believe…God or man?
I choose to believe God. The One who holds me in the palm of His hand. Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow (Psalm 144:4).

Thankful to God that He loves us so much. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

  1. The word says not find it strange or funny when you trials and tribulations come your way , because God will deliver us out of it all. I’m so glad that the hand of the enemy failed yet again. God has our back!!!

  2. Amen 🙏🏾 – There is power in your silence. It’s seems easier to handle the situation with your tongue & self satisfaction in letting the person know what you are & are not going to allow them to do. But when you say absolutely nothing & give it completely to God to handle. The end result is priceless. Because not only does the other person get it ( who’s you are & who you belong to) but you yourself are being spiritually fed and now has a testimony. Most importantly God gets the glory. Look at God.
I love it 🥰 Be Intentional, Audrey
