What are you putting out in the world?

Have you noticed you will receive more “Likes” posting a picture of what you ate, of your personal affairs, and selfies, then sharing the Word of God? Some people are reluctant to share or comment on a Christian post because they don’t know how their followers will feel about it. How do I know? Well, the enemy has tried to drop those same thoughts in my mind, which I immediately shut down remembering what Jesus said in Matthew 10:33 but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.

Are the number of Followers you have more important than sharing the Gospel to the world?

I have a strong desire to complete my assignment while I’m living. Do you share the same thoughts? If you don’t know what God’s Will is for your life, then go to Him in prayer and ask Him. We all have a purpose. God’s Will is also in His Word (e.g., read Ephesians 5:15-20).

If you have read my About the Blogger page, then you know that I had no idea that this website would even exist a year ago. I have enjoyed blogging from this application because it allows me to see just how far the website has gone. There have been many occasions where the posts have reached as far as India. Why am I saying this? It’s important for us to recognize the impact we can make on the Web spreading the Good News of Salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus walked the earth and traveled by boat to save souls; however, today, we have God’s Spirit in us and the ability to reach the lost without even leaving our homes. How powerful is that with the advancement of technology! The enemy wants us to use the Web through various social media channels to tear up homes, end marriages with adultery, “catfish” people, gossip, brag, sow discord in relationships, and the list goes on and on…Please do not fall for it. We can turn those negative behaviors into positive ones. Personally, I refuse to engage in conversations or even “like” or share posts online that do not represent my character or the empowerment of others. Let’s not bring each other down, but lift each other up (1 Thessalonians 5:11 ) as one Body in Christ.

On Wednesday, during Bible studies this week, it was mentioned that people worship things that God has blessed us with on Earth. We have been blessed with technology, but what are we using it for? Idols are anything that is worshipped and placed before God. Facebook can be an idol (Do you know anyone who can’t get out of their bed fast enough in the morning to check their account to see if anything has happened since the night before?), an iPhone can be an idol, if it’s idolized, a man or woman can be an idol in your life (especially if you feel like you cannot live without that person), and a car can be an idol.

The enemy may place these things before your eyes, but let’s not forget who gave us the ability of our limbs to use them, the brain to come up with the ideas, the heart to love, the understanding of what love truly is, and the air in our lungs to live another day to enjoy them – Thank you, Jesus! It is God who deserves our praises and thanksgiving and not material things or anyone else.

I have a challenge for everyone this week. Pray to God about what you can do to further the Kingdom of God. If you’re led by the Holy Spirit to use the internet to do so, then go in confidence knowing that God will help you. He is our Jehovah Jireh (The Lord Will Provide). Amen! If it’s confidence that you need to get it done, then He will give you that as well. In the Book of Exodus, Moses had concerns about leading the Israelites. Exodus 4:10 But Moses pleaded with the LORD, “O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.” If you’re feeling inadequate and lack confidence, then read Exodus. God is so loving that He listened to Moses’ concerns and still made a way for him to get the job done. He will do the same for you.

It’s not just enough for our love ones to be saved. Jesus came to save the world. He will help us through the power of the Holy Spirit to continue this ministry on earth.
I pray this message speaks to your heart today. May the remainder of your week be blessed in the Lord.

Love you all in Christ,
Ayesha Shoulders
